Now that I have had an hour or so to start reviewing some of what you have sent us, I just have to send you a grateful note: many of these are documents that I have stored over the years in different places. Whenever I need one, I spend time searching for it, sometimes fruitlessly. Now having all of them in one folder marked "SmartTalk" is a huge gift that will be making my life easier for a long time to come. Thank you very much for all your work on this project. I feel as though you have already made my participation worth the effort!

Dear Irina, Marina, and Anna,

Thank you so much for everything you did to make the STARTALK workshop (phase I) such a success. I hope you have taken the weekend to rest and also to pat yourselves on the back. Your participants (and guest speakers) went away very happy. I feel very fortunate to participant in such a creative project. Thanks so much for inviting me to collaborate with you.

Today's workshop helped me understand much better how to view the two systems of standards. I feel as though for the first time I understand why Russian texts are written as they are. In the past, they were a complete mystery to me

I felt as though I had been introduced to an entirely new culture. The Russian perspective is so different from the American one that it would help me greatly to be able to talk about it with others in a roundtable sort of discussion. My mind was reeling! I'm very impressed by the results that the Russians are trying to achieve, as well as by the materials that they are working to create. It would be amazing if we could pull the standards together in some fashion.

After submitting my final work tonight, I want to let you know that I learned so much from the workshop and the experience of creating the LOs. I know I will continue creating more in the future for my own students, and hopefully for RUSLO too. What I've learned has changed my approach to teaching from my teaching philosophy to the tools I use. I also enjoyed it immensely!!
