Thomas Beyer is a C.V. Starr Professor of Russian and East European Studies at Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont
Thomas Beyer has been teaching Russian for 38 years both in academic year and intensive summer language school and has authored over a dozen texts on language learning. He has long been involved with distance learning as well as the application of technology to Russian language studies. He was co-author of the original ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines for Russian and helped to design the first non-governmental proficiency exams for Russian for the Educational Testing Service.
